Innovation Projects for 2019 - 2020

The staff at Bridge are a dedicated, hard-working, innovative and creative team of educators. They are passionate about teaching and learning and curious to learn new ways to enhance learning and engage students.

The following is a list of Innovation Projects in which the teachers at Bridge are participating this school year:

Innovation Projects:

1. Communicating Student Learning - Ministry of Education's K-9 Student Reporting Policy Pilot  (SRPP) Project

  • 11 of 15 Classroom Teachers at Bridge are participating as a pilot site for the Ministry of Education’s K-9 Student Reporting Policy Pilot (SRPP).

British Columbia has a redesigned curriculum, which means that we are also redesigning how we assess and report on student progress. The goal of communicating student progress is to ensure that families are well informed about their children’s progress. As a result, we are working to support new practices for communicating student learning.

  • In the future, communication about student progress will be provided through a variety of forms, some of which will include:
    • Digital portfolio posts (ongoing)
    • Learning conferences (October and February)
    • Student Reflection of the Core Competencies (ongoing)
    • Mid-Year Summary of Learning/Check-In (January)
    • Summary of Progress & Self-Assessment of the Core Competencies (end of year)

2. Library Learning Commons (LLC)
