EASE Program and Training - Everyday Anxiety Strategies for Educators

In consultation with our school counsellor, several classroom teachers and our Pro-D committee, we have committed to focus on increasing our SEL/SR (Social Emotional Learning and Social Responsibility) ‘quotient’ at Bridge.  We will be using the EASE (Everyday Anxiety Strategies for Educators) lessons as an anchor as it has an implied adult component in the training and program ie. what is good for kids is also good for the educators.  This will help with the stress of the seismic upgrade on staff as well as student behaviour and social responsibility overall.

We will work with district staff during our September Pro-D Day to begin the EASE training and then continue with this work during subsequent school-based Pro-D Days.

We will apply for an Innovation grant to supply release time to do additional work on this goal.

Here are some topics that are covered in the lessons – all connected to the PS Core Competencies with lessons in English and French!
