Pink Shirt Day Lunch Club

In the weeks leading up to Pink Shirt Day, students were invited to join several staff members at lunch in the library and gym to brainstorm ways to educate the school about the importance of Pink Shirt Day and its message of Kindness.  Students came up with three main ideas: Make Buttons, Play Games and Write Announcements.  During these lunch time sessions, students chose to work at one of these three activities:

1. The Button Group designed and created buttons to be given to students. These were a hit and on the distribution day, students lined up outside to choose a Kindness Button.

2. The Games Group played games together learning how to share, take turns, lose with grace and win with humility.

3. The Announcements Group worked together to write interesting facts about Pink Shirt Day to be shared on the morning announcements.

On Pink Shirt Day the school was a sea of pink as staff wore shirts and sweatshirts that had been ordered through our Innovation Grants Team and many classes celebrate in their own ways wearing pink and their new buttons.
