Dear Bridge Families,

 

At our recent PAC Meeting (Parent Advisory Council), an idea was proposed by parents to try to make the Bridge parking lot and the front of the school a safer space for students, staff and families, especially during the busy after-school pick-up time.

 

We will be closing the parking lot, including the pick-up/drive-thru lanes, after school. This will start on Tuesday, January 28th.

All drivers will need to park in the neighbourhood and walk in to pick up their child(ren). 

 

A reminder to abide by the city parking bylaws as posted in the neighbourhood and to keep all driveways clear.  Do not park and block a driveway.  Please see the attached sign we will post to remind families.  This has also been sent home in an email to all Bridge families.

 

Thank you to our parent volunteers who will be at the school entrance each afternoon to help remind families of these new rules.

 

Our custodians, who begin work at 3pm, and district staff coming to Bridge for after-school meetings, will show their identification to enter and park in the staff parking lot. 

 

We will continue to use the drop-off lane in the morning but remind everyone that there are no parking spots in the drop-off lane and that you must not leave your car unattended.  The lines in the drop-off lane are meant to guide drivers into a spot to safely drop off children.
